This is the first Blog I have ever done. As a matter of fact this is my first blog. I am creating this blog because I feel today we parents are faced with a whole new set of challenges that our parents and their parents never had to face. In this age where our kids are exposed to over 200 channels, endless amounts of video games (both on the WWii and internet) and the endless amount of information on the internet. It can be incredible overwhelming for them. In this blog I hope to create a forum were parents can come together and express and question and learn from each other on how to help our children.
I have two boys of my own. My oldest was labeled a 'problem child' in kindergarden. How a small child like that can be a problem, is beyond me. They are not problems , they have big problems that they need help with. My son had Autism. I did not find this out until he was in 3rd grade. Because I refused to listen to the 'old school' and decided to find out what was really happening with my son he got the help he needed. We all got the help we needed and we are so much better for it.
My journey only started about 4 years ago and I do not wish it to end. I want to hear from those out their of their experiences with raising children and those that have a profession helping children. I look forward to learning so much from everyone who can be a part of this.

- I am a mother of 2 kids. My oldest ,10 yrs old, was diagnosed with a form of Autism. Although it is mild it does present its own set of unique challenges. My youngest is not affected by this. Because I have been faced with a unique challenge with my oldest I was forced to reevaluate parenting and the ways of my parents and the ways of today. this site is hopefully will help all of use parents to answer the questions that our parents never had to face. And the effect will be amazing children from all walks of life.
